A calculator that gives the probability of radiation necrosis in brain metastases after initial response and apparent regrowth is observed at three timepoints after irradiation.
This tool implements the predictive model developed and validated in Ocaña-Tienda et al. A clinical decision-support framework to differentiate radiation necrosis from tumor progression in brain metastases. The tool has not received external validation by FDA or any other government agency and should be used with caution.
This is a collaborative work between the Mathematical Oncology Laboratory (MOLAB) and the Spanish hospitals: Instituto Valenciano de Oncología, Hospital 12 de Octubre, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Hospital Universitario de Salamanca, Hospital Carlos Haya and HM Sanchinarro.
